1: What information do I need in order to board my pet?

We require a current vaccination record for your pet showing that the required vaccinations are up to date. It is also imperative that we see a current Rabies Certificate.  For an example of an acceptable form, please visit our "Ready to Board" page.

If you are a resident of Pennsylvania and you are boarding a dog, we highly recommend you have a current dog license for your pet and you bring that tag with you when you board. If you are an out of state resident than you are not required to have a license for your dog.

We also recommend that your pet be on a flea and tick preventative.

2: Can I board my dogs together?

You are more than welcome to board your dogs together; our accommodations are spacious and comfortable for multiple dogs. We ask that if there is any information we need to know prior to boarding (i.e. feeding separately or aggression issues) that you let us know at check-in.

3: What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept cash, checks, and credit/debit cards.
Payment is expected at time of check-out.

4: What can I bring?

A towel or blanket that “smells like home”, treats, and chew toys are always good items to bring.-Label all your items with your last name please.

Please be aware that though we make every attempt to return items to you there is a chance they may not be returned. With that, we ask you bring nothing of value (i.e. “Sparky’s favorite stuffed toy”) as it may be lost or destroyed.

FOOD: You are more than welcome to bring your own food. This is highly recommended for pets with sensitive digestive systems or who are on special diets. We supply our guests with Pedigree brand dog food, at no additional charge, but if you choose to bring your own it MUST come in the following manner:

- MUST be labeled with the pet’s first and last name

- MUST be contained in a SEALED bag or a Tupperware container of some kind
- NO OPEN DOG FOOD BAGS, NO PLASTIC GROCERY BAGS, NO CONTAINERS WITHOUT LIDS! Additional charges may be incurred if we need to store food in appropriate containers.

5: What if my pet is on medication?

We administer medications to pets at no extra charge.

We require that all medications be contained in appropriate pill containers labeled with your pet’s first and last name, the medication name, and the proper dosage to administer on the bottle.  Also, please notify us at check-in if your pet’s medication needs to be refrigerated.  Please do not mix medication in with the dog's food.

6: When should I make my reservation?

Our kennels tend to fill up quickly during peak holidays and seasons. If you are planning a trip during any of these times (i.e. Thanksgiving, Fourth of July, Labor Day, etc) it is best to call and reserve space as soon as possible! If you are unsure of your plans, you are more than welcome to call and ask us about our availability so you may determine when you need to reserve space for your pet.

7: Can my dog be groomed while he is being boarded?

Yes! We provide full grooming services to our boarding guests. When you make your reservation, ask to schedule a time for your pet to be groomed while he is being boarded so we may reserve an appointment time with one of our groomers. If you wait until check-in to ask for a grooming appointment, there may be a chance that appointments will not be available so make sure to schedule ahead of time.

8: Is there an additional charge if I pick up my dog in the afternoon and not the morning?

We do not charge a late fee for picking your dog up during our open business hours.
However, we do have late pick-ups on Sundays from 3pm-5pm. If you choose to pick your pet up during this time you will be charged for an extra day.

9: Can my dog play with other dogs while being boarded?

Unless we have permission from all clients involved, we do not intermingle our guests. We do not provide temperament testing or behavioral assessments at Vixen Hall, with that, for safety purposes, we only allow same family dogs to play and interact with one another. Playtimes are spent with our Pet Care Technicians where each dog gets one on one time with our staff.

10. I'm going to miss my pet while I'm away. Will I be able to check in on them?

Absolutely!  Feel free to call our office or send us an email and we will respond to you within 24 hours.  If you leave us your email address, we can send you pictures and updates so you will have peace of mind.  We understand that leaving a family member is tough.  We want to not only make your pets feel comfortable, but you as well.
